Time is, as always, flying by. Isn't it interesting how misery prolongs time but happiness make time go faster? Savor the moments...
I started this blog nearly a year ago, as a requirement of my Foundations of Teaching credential class. I continued it, thinking it would be nice to have a record of my time in grad school...and then it grew to be my little corner of cheer, celebrating life's simple beauties, and creative projects galore.
I am about a month out from graduating. I will finish my second student teaching placement in about four weeks. Last time, I taught with a class mate and master teacher in a 4/5 combination class; now I am teaching alongside my new master class in a straight second.
When I'm not teaching second grade, I am writing my thesis (Reimagining the Residency: A Guide for Theatre Teaching Artists), working the odd day at Anthro, teaching two classes at the studio, directing Shrek and The Little Mermaid, Junior, and attending night class.
Needless to say, I haven't made much progress on my granny square project (I am goaling myself for 100+, I'm currently at 40) or on new crocheted socks. I tried to crochet a headband for a friend (having made them--successfully--before) and gave it up as an utter failure.
Night crew. I'm third in from the right. :)
I was trying to get the pile of music books in this one...I ended up having to accompany Little Mermaid auditions and brought as many books as I could think of that the kids might pick from.
My blockmate Katie and I are working on a Population Connection activity: mining for chocolate chips using a toothpick and cookies. The activity is to remind students that resources are precious and scarce and we must respect the earth and remember that what resources we have are shared with all. Did you know that the U.S. has one of the smaller populations, but uses the most resources?
We got in a MASSIVE new candle at Anthro. Seriously, this thing weighs a ton and is priced at $178. That's a bit up there for a candle, but imagine how long it would last and how much it will fill your home with the scent of loveliness....ahhh....
After a long day, I come home and squeeze my husband and my Dodger. Dodger is expressing his feelings by sticking out his tongue. I love this dog.
Until next time!
I'm off to work on my thesis...
